Daniella Cicarelli was born on November 6, 1978, into a traditional but fiery Italian family in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Her mother had hoped for a daughter with big lips and blue eyes; fate smiled halfway and gave her a green-eyed, pouty brunette, who was turning heads before her first kiss. At age 14, Daniella took part in an Elite modeling contest and won. But her father would not let her further pursue a modeling career with a move to So Paulo, South America's fashion capital, at such a young age.


Instead, Daniella continued her normal life in Belo Horizonte, where she studied business administration in college. But she continued doing modeling gigs on the side to earn a little extra money. Frustrated by her unfulfilled potential, Daniella's agency couldn't stand it anymore. They convinced her to make the move and go pro.

Given that most Brazilian models get started no later than age 15, going pro at 20 was something of a late start. In light of this, Daniella was a bit shaky, but she was also more mature, more sure of herself and better educated than many of her peers. The job offers began to pile up on her doorstep. She did catwalks, magazine shoots, catalogs... the works. But it was a 2001 Pepsi ad that really detonated Daniella's career. From that moment on, she seemed to be all TV all the time.


Popular websites showcasing hot women spread Daniella's name. A centerfold in the men's magazine VIP made her such a star that Brazilian media giant TV Globo cast her in the soap opera As Filhas da Me (The Mother's Daughters), where she costarred in no fewer than 40 episodes.

In 2003, Daniella modeled in the summer fashion shows in Rio and So Paulo. From there, she was picked by designer Spezzato to be their new "it" girl. The photos from her ensuing campaigns with them were considered racy even by Brazilian standards.

That same year, MTV Brasil invited Daniella be the cohost for their show Notcias de Biquini (News in Bikinis). She was so loved by that point that young girls were asking her to autograph their panties. By the time of the 2004 Rio Fashion Week, the general consensus was that Daniella had dethroned Gisele Bndchen as the uber-girl of Brazilian fashion.


Daniella was so hot, in fact, that Brazil's national hero, the Real Madrid striker Ronaldo, fell for her when the two met at a party. They began dating, and soon the model conquered the the soccer world just as she had the fashion industry. Soccer websites across the globe rushed to post pics of Ronaldo's new stunner, and Daniella became a true international celebrity. It was soon announced that Daniella was pregnant, and the couple moved to Spain with wedding plans.

The Spanish press went wild for Daniella, elated to receive another lovely Brazilian to fill the void left by Ronaldo's ex-wife Milene Domingues. Tragedy struck, however, and Daniella had a miscarriage in April of 2005 while taping a show in Brazil. One month later, the couple announced they were breaking up.

Daniella returned to her family and friends in her native land, renewed her contract with MTV Brasil and signed up to host a new show, Beija Sapo (Kiss the Frog). Daniella lives in So Paulo.
